It seems all our camping gear is built to be beaten up. It’s durable, it’s waterproof and it is constantly tossed into our rigs and dropped at trailheads. To be honest, it’s part of what I love about the outdoors, it’s just not as soft as the rest of our lives. Our phones can’t be dropped, our cars can’t get a scratch on the paint and our egos–well, you get the drift.
Now, picture tossing your pack down at the campsite just to hear a glass breaking sound and watching that sweet, sweet hooch flood out of the seems. To make matters worse, you just ruined that great label that sold you the bottle in the first place! You’re not winning at this point, and neither is the rest of your trip. Try explaining to the park ranger how you are NOT drunk even though every piece of clothing you have wreaks of booze.
Also, depending on where you live or what climate you are adventuring in, bottle and plastic containers get HOT. I don’t know about you but, sipping a flaming hot drink in the summer doesn’t sound fun.

Who Needs a Flask Anyways?
You do, its 2020, and we need to capitalize on all this wonderful innovation.
While the idea of a traditional flask is not new, it’s been lacking in a few areas, (mainly volume) that has yet to be resolved. That is, until now. High Camp Flasks Meets the Tetons
After receiving our Firelight 375 from High Camp Flasks, we tossed it into our gear for a 10 day trip to the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Our trips have a consistent them: lots of planning and preparation, followed by chaos, lack of any organization, and all the plans changing shortly after arrival. But hey, that’s what makes it an adventure, right?
Once we arrived at GTNP, we quickly realized we should have reserved a campsite. Everything was booked and people were driving all over trying to find a spot. I’ve been in this mess before, and rather than hunting camp spots like others, I decided to head to dispersed campsites in the National Forrest area adjacent to the park.
Fortunately, just 5 miles east, tucked in the foothills, we found an incredible lakeside forest service spot. Life is good.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of a better way to celebrate an 8-hour drive from Colorado to North Western Wyoming than with a campfire and a glass of wine. Due to the ongoing wildfires, instead of a campfire, we settled with just lakeside wine right at sunset. Again, life is good.
